Ontario Invests in FleetOptics to Advance AI-Powered Delivery Precision Technologies

FleetOptics will develop AI-enabled delivery planning and verification technologies to improve last-mile accuracy, efficiency, and reliability, with support from the Government of Ontario through OVIN.

Milton, ON August 11, 2026 – FleetOptics is pleased to announce its participation in a new Ontario Vehicle Innovation Network (OVIN) R&D partnership fund project focused on advancing AI-powered delivery precision technologies. Supported by the Government of Ontario through the OVIN R&D Partnership Fund, the project will accelerate the development and commercialization of Ontario-made logistics technologies designed to improve delivery accuracy, operational efficiency, and environmental sustainability across Canada’s rapidly growing last-mile delivery sector. The project represents a total investment of over $1 million, including nearly $341,000 from the Ontario government through OVIN and nearly $682,000 private sector contributions from FleetOptics and industry partners.

Through this OVIN supported project, FleetOptics will work alongside industry partners to develop and validate AI-enabled technologies that address two leading causes of last-mile delivery failure: vehicle capacity constraints resulting from inaccurate parcel dimensions and mis-deliveries that go undetected in real time.  By improving how deliveries are planned, measured, and verified, the project will help reduce operational waste, improve customer experience, and support more efficient last-mile transportation networks.

The initiative builds upon FleetOptics existing investments in delivery auditing, route optimization, and operational technology. Through the integration of advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and real-time delivery intelligence, FleetOptics is creating a unified platform that generates Canadian-owned operational data and continuously improves through ongoing network activity. This approach supports smarter delivery planning and stronger visibility across last-mile operations and more accurate delivery verification. By leveraging artificial intelligence and data-driven decision-making, the project is expected to reduce operational inefficiencies, lower transportation-related emissions, and create long-term economic benefits for Ontario’s transportation and logistics sector.

Innovation at FleetOptics is driven by close collaboration with customers, drivers, technology providers, and industry stakeholders. Insights gathered through ongoing client engagement and operational feedback help identify emerging challenges and guide the development of practical solutions that can be rapidly deployed and scaled across the logistics ecosystem.

“At FleetOptics, innovation begins with understanding the operational challenges faced by our customers and delivery partners every day, through collaboration with technology partners and Ontario’s innovation ecosystem, we are developing AI-enabled solutions that improve delivery precision, operational efficiency, and sustainability across the last mile. Support from OVIN enables us to accelerate the commercialization of technologies that will strengthen Ontario’s logistics sector while delivering measurable value to businesses and consumers.”

– Louise Chan, Senior Director, Product & Sustainability at FleetOptics
